Xiaomi to Launch Its First ‘Made in India’ Smartphone Monday

Under the ‘Make in India, made in Andhra Pradesh’ program, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu State launched the first phone manufactured in India Xiaomi in Visakhapatnam today. In the event, Xiaomi also make announcement about its expansion plan in India.
Xiaomi, a manufacturer of low-cost smartphones in China is the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.
After the visit of Prime Minister to China earlier this year, Xiaomi has come to Visakhapatnam to launch its first made-in-India smartphone and announce plans for the country, the statement said.
Since sales of smartphones worldwide is estimated to grow from 1.5 billion in 2015 to 1,700,000,000 in 2017 and India will become the largest market for smartphones second in 2017, after China, Xiaomi seeks to expand its presence and increase its market share in the country, said.
During the program in Visakhapatnam today, Manu Jain, CEO Xiaomi India and Hugo Barra, VP Global Xiaomi remain present.
