In order to gain an advantage over the next 6s Apple iPhone and iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung broke traditions to launch the Galaxy Note and Galaxy 5 S6 + Edge earlier this
year. Apparently, the South Korean giant has similar plans for the Indian market as well.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ to launch in India this month
Traditionally, Samsung introduces its Galaxy Note phablet at IFA in September, and the launch in India a month later. This time, Samsung is rushing to bring new smart
phones to India, and could launch one of them as early as this month, reports ETTech.
According to the publication bgr, Samsung plans to launch the Edge + Galaxy S6 in India later this month, while the Galaxy Note 5 is coming next month. The publication
also cites Shoneel Kolhatkar, senior director (product marketing) at Samsung Telecommunications America LLC as saying, “For the first time, we are launching our
flagship long before their usual release and will also be the fastest ever availability of new devices sales since its announcement. “
The first mover advantage is sure Samsung will help garner a much larger share of the smartphone market. According to a recent IDC report, in Q2 2015, Samsung earned
21.7 percent of the global share of smartphones, while Apple followed with a 14.1 percent share. In another interesting report, Samsung is said to have attained market
share of 46 percent in the previous 30,000 rupees smartphone market in India in the first four months of 2015, while Apple accounted for 42 percent.
In short, Samsung took the wraps off its new Galaxy Note and Galaxy 5 S6 + Edge last week in its Unpacked event in New York. The Galaxy Note 5 has a qHD Super AMOLED
screen of 5.7 inches, a processor 7422 Exynos octa-core 64-bit, 4 GB of RAM and internal memory of 32 GB / 64 GB.
