Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer “Drishyam” opened to critical acclaim but the film did not have a good opening at the box office. “Drishyam” has opened about 10-15% occupancy on the first day in India and since the screen count is 2365, the film will have low collection box office opening day.
Drishyam’ Box Office Colleciton
Ajay recent releases including “Singham Returns” and “Action Jackson” received either normal opening, but opening “Drishyam” below average.
According to Box Office India, the opening of “Drishyam” is less than “Piku”, “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” and other films released this year.
But as “Drishyam” is backed by positive reviews, it is expected to pick up the collection during its first weekend in India.
Meanwhile, not only uncrowded but business “Drishyam” will be affected by the current movie “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” starring Salman Khan.
The buzz surrounding “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” exceeds Ajay of “Drishyam” and thus will dominate the box office. Salman starrer “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” will enter its third week in India, but the third Friday occupation is higher than the first day occupation “Drishyam”.
“Drishyam” directed by Nishikant Kamat is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. Ajay boasts, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and Ishita Dutta in prominent roles. ibtimes
