New Delhi: Centre is planning to bring back compulsory exams in class X board? Yes, if the speculation is going by.Zeenewsindia According to reports, the central government is considering to scrap the policy of not arrest – was introduced under the Law on Right to Education – in stages.
It is also considering making the board exams mandatory Class X again to schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The two issues will be discussed Wednesday at a meeting of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE). Among these officials are human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry, state ministers, education experts and academics. CABE is the political advisory body of higher education of the Ministry of HRD.
It will be the first time the CABE will be holding a meeting after the new government came to power.
As part of the policy of non-stop, students are allowed to move to the next class without being arrested, even if they can not guarantee a passing grade. Politics is applicable to students studying in standard VIII upto classes.
The issues will be discussed in the wake of complaints from parents and teachers that the policy of non-arrest and optional Class X board exams have led to the depletion of the quality of school education.
