Adam Sandler pixel may have beat other releases of the weekend, but his debut at $ 24 million better achieved small but powerful Ant-Man. Instead, the smallest hero Marvel box office claimed the crown back in its second weekend with an estimated $ 24.8 million.

But the biggest surprise box office was actually left-handed, not even expected to make the top five. Instead, boxing movie Jake Gyllenhaal came with an estimated $ 16.5 million, well above initial estimates in the low teens. It was expected that the adult theater skewing paper fall to the peoples, but the adaptation of young adult novel by John Green fell short and only opened to $ 12.5 million. While people Paper not expected to be much of a hit as other green adaptation of last summer, the fault in the stars (which opened to $ 48 million), was still in sight of a debut closer to $ 20 million. Meanwhile, the minions fell 55 percent to an estimated $ 22.1 million, winning the third place in its third weekend. Trainwreck Amy Schumer, meanwhile, saw a tiny drop of 43 percent in its second year out, finishing the weekend with an estimated $ 17.3 million. Outside the top five, Jurassic World (of course) reached a national total of $ 623.8 million, officially making it the third largest domestic film of all time.
